Jean-Pierre Mercier, curator

At the beginning there was Fear(s) of the dark, an animation movie for young adults and adults. Sensitive to the quality of this slightly crazy project and aware of its educational dimension, the National Center of Comics of Angoulême associated itself to Prima Linea Productions in order to achieve an exhibition on the conditions of creation and realization of the film. Inaugurated during the 33th International Festival of Comics, it will take place in the basement floor of the CNBDI until the 4th September 2006.
Intended for the amators of the 7th Art as much as the 9th Art, the exhibition Fear(s) of the dark wishes to acquaint the visitors to the creation process of a feature animation and gathers a great amount of documents whether still and graphic or animated ( sketches, cut outs, movement tests), music, some dialogues put in perspective by short and acute explanatory texts.
